چکیده
Using information from an experimental planting of non-toxic Jatropha curcas (NTJC) with minimal water and fertilization resources on rural marginal soil the objective this article is to determine sustainability raw material for producing biodiesel possibilities improving it through life-cycle assessment (LCA). Three production scenarios were studied: (MR), which focuses obtaining biodiesel; utilization sub-products (MRUS), includes residual products in order produce food solid biofuels, as well biofertilizers, flood irrigation, (UBIS), incorporates use bio-fertilizers irrigation system. This study selection six indicators, indicators by means LCA methodology Finally, a index (SI) each scenario was determined basis environmental energy (IESEP). Our results indicated that MR yielded lowest SI 0.673, while MRUS had highest 0.956. It concludes greater when utilizes during stage, are used made possible properties curcas.

Environmental Impacts of Jatropha curcas Biodiesel in India
In the context of energy security, rural development and climate change, India actively promotes the cultivation of Jatropha curcas, a biodiesel feedstock which has been identified as suitable for achieving the Indian target of 20% biofuel blending by 2017. In this paper, we present results concerning the range of environmental impacts of different Jatropha curcas cultivation systems. Moreover,...
متن کاملA comprehensive life cycle assessment (LCA) of Jatropha biodiesel production in India.
A life cycle approach was adopted for energy, green house gas (GHG) emissions and renewability assessment for production of 1ton of Jatropha biodiesel. Allocation and displacement approaches were applied for life cycle inventory, process energy and process GHG emission attribution to co-products. The results of process energy and GHG emission analyses revealed that the amount of process energy ...
متن کاملProduction of biodiesel from non-edible Jatropha curcas oil via transesterification using Bi2O3-La2O3 catalyst ABSTRACT The simultaneous esterification and transesterification of Jatropha curcas
The simultaneous esterification and transesterification of Jatropha curcas oil (JCO) was carried out in the presence of Bi2O3 (1–7 wt.%) modified La2O3 catalyst at atmospheric pressure. The catalyst were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), BET surface area, desorption of CO2 (TPD-CO2) and NH3 (TPD-NH3). Under the optimal reaction condition of methanol/oil molar ratio of 15:1, 2 wt.% of ca...
